Measurements must be carried out each time production cycles concerning machines which produce vibrations are modified, or when new ones are bought. In any case, surveys and evaluations must be repeated min every 4 years.
ECO Certificazioni, with its policy of
constant competence updating and development of all professionals working
within its structure, can offer specific services, allowing firms to comply to D.LGS 81/08:
- measurements of the vibrations
transmitted to the entire body;
- measurements of the vibrations
transmitted to the hand-arm system;
- laboratory tests on components, seats,
handles, etc.
Moreover, when required by the risk
evaluation report, we may provide indications on which technical and
organizational measures to apply in order to minimize exposure to vibrations
and related risks.
Law requirements
European Directive 2002/44/EC establishes a series of attainments and limitations concerning workers’ exposure to vibrations-related risks. Said Directive was integrated in DLGS 81/08 for the safety of work environments and imposes a series of obligations in order to protect workers’ security.
Obligation addressees
Employers are obliged to evaluate their workers’ exposure to vibrations-related risks and to draw up exposure reports stating all values resulting from instrumental measurements or obtained from database. A risk evaluation file must then be filled out on the basis of the surveys.
The solution
ECO Certificazioni carries out surveys, both for the hand-arm system and the entire body, on any type of machine/equipment used in normal working activities.
We dispose of competent technicians and instrumentation, capable of performing in-depth analysis which can supply important indications for the solving of problems connected to vibration exposure.
The European Directive
The Directive defines dangerous vibrations such as:
- mechanical vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system which may constitute a health risk, involving for example vascular, ostheo-articular or neurological disturbs;
- mechanical vibrations transmitted to the entire body, which may become a possible cause for lumbago and traumas of the rachis. The Directive concerns all equipment producing vibrations, even minimal, as long as they come into physical contact with the manoeuvring operator, both through the entire body (when seated or standing on the machine) or through hands and arms (when using handles, levers, manual control, etc).
